Stjepan Basariček (1848-1918)
- A teacher, professor of pedagogy and teaching methodology and educational author at the turn of the 20th century. Initiator, founder and an active member of the most important educational and pedagogical associations and institutions in Croatia.

Andrija Borovček (1931- 2021)
- A physical education teacher in primary schools in Rakovac, Banija and Dubovac. Principal of the Mile Mraović and Dragojla Jarnević Primary Schools in Karlovac. Secretary of the Self-Administrative Interest Group for Social Welfare of Children and referee at numerous sporting events.

Ivan Brixy (1851- 1929)
- A prominent Croatian school and education professional in the late 19th century and early 20th century, member of the Croatian Literary-Educational Association, author of methodological textbooks for handicrafts. He introduced slöjd (men’s handicrafts) in Croatian teacher education schools.

Ivo Brodarec (1912 – 1989)
A hygiene and social medicine specialist. An active medical, cultural and educational professional and Director of the Central Institute for Hygiene in Zagreb and Chairman of the Council for Public Health and Social Policy.

Josip Demarin (1895 – 1981)
- A professor at teacher education schools in Maribor and Zagreb and Faculties of Teacher Education in Zagreb and Split. A pedagogist and pedagogical author. One of the editors of Pedagogical Lexicon (1939) and Chairman of the Croatian Literary-Educational Association.

Marijan Koletić (1910 – 1988)
A Croatian pedagogist. He worked as a teacher and professor at the Teacher Education College and Academy of Music in Zagreb. He was Chairman of the and Editor-in-Chief of Napredak magazine (1945).

Milka Pogačić (1860 – 1936)
- A Croatian teacher and author. She advocated improved living conditions and education for poor children. She founded the Children’s Home and initiated the establishment of several children’s shelters and rehabilitation centers, as well as the Girls’ Household Management College in Zagreb.

Vladimir Poljak (1920 – 1998)
- A teacher, pedagogist and university professor. Head of the Didactics and Teaching Methodology Department, Director of the Pedagogy Section and Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and Director of the Institute for Pedagogy.

Davorin Trstenjak (1848 – 1921)
- A Croatian pedagogist and pedagogical author. He edited and wrote several books on pedagogy and ethnography, as well as books for children and young people. He was the first President of the Union of Croatian Teacher Societies.

Grigor Vitez (1911 – 1966)
- A Croatian poet and translator. He worked as a teacher, at the Ministry of Education, and at Mladost publishing company as an editor of children’s books. He is presently considered the originator of modern Croatian children’s literature, which has been validated as part of the overall Croatian body of literature.
